Rabbi Meyer Bodner, a native of Lakewood, NJ, Learned in Adelphia and Denver co. He continued his journey in the world of Torah at Bais Medrosh Gevoah, where he received his Smicha. He then went on to make a Parnassa and moved to Brooklyn NY to establish a career. While working in various professions, his love for teaching and inspiring others never waned.
For many years, he devoted himself to serving as a rebbi at Yeshiva Ohr Yitzchok, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the lives of numerous talmidim.
In 2015, noticing that many of his students were heading to Far Rockaway, Rabbi Bodner decided to join them. He founded a Shul that aimed to be more than just a place of Torah and Teffilla, —it was meant to be a genuine home for these young men and others seeking a welcoming and inspiring community.
The Shul named after his Rabbis shul, Rabbi Alster from Flatbush NY who agreed to be the senior rabbinical adviser. While in Yeshiva, Rabbi Bodner noticed the difficulty it was for most to master the the learning requirements and established the Night Kollel in the shul to help foster the growth of learning for guys of any age. Indeed many people have found success in Learning Gemarah and other subjects that they were struggling for many years.
